Meet Naomi- The Radiant And Beautiful Bride

Hello glowing beauties, today I am going to be sharing  a little with you on Naomi's wedding. Let me start by saying that Naomi is another lady that asked for my bridal services at Jemima's wedding (I have finally uploaded the post on jemima's wedding). #winks#

This very bride booked for my service right there at the party like Jenny did and she also stayed in touch with me till her 'd-days' came. Naomi had her traditional and church weddings on separate days (Thursday and Saturday respectively).my o my! those days to me were a great deal of fun and excitement....ladies, here is introducing Naomi the very radiant and beautiful bride.

Lolade's Introduction Makeover

Hello glowing beauties, hurray! its lolade's introduction ...
I have known Lolade-  this amiable and beautiful lady from way back secondary school- precisely 20 years ago. Hmm! I am so glad that I got to do lollyppy's  makeover. Yeah! Lollyppy is what she is fondly called by her close friends.

Again as usual, I have some pictures of her to show; and just as the occasion suggests, this makeover was just the introduction. Watch out for her wedding proper , especially her makeovers...its coming right at you very soon. Its  promises to be wow! In the meantime, enjoy this. I'm out!

Jemima- A piece of heaven

Yayy! finally the long awaited post is here... Here is introducing Jemima, the much talked about bride on my blog.  Read on...
I remember when she first ever introduced herself to me. I was like "are you a Northerner?" She just smiled and replied "No, that name is from the Bible- one of Job's daughters had that name remember? and I was like "Oh yeah" (not sure I had a clue).Jemi as she is usually called by friends,  is a very beautiful lady anytime, any day with or without makeup, I must add that she has a very clear and lovely skin...She is simply a piece of heaven. She has got that sort of look that keeps you stirring  and stirring at her in amazement(not small thing, lol).

Anyway, She and I had known ourselves way, way, back but we lost contact for a long while till I fortunately bumped into her fiancé a couple of months prior to their wedding. So, I rang her up and Oh my Goodness! She sounded so excited over the phone that I could practically feel her smiling from ear to ear.

I hate to bore you with details, so I will just fast-forward this tale of mine. She booked for her traditional and Church weddings as every other bride... On her traditional wedding, she had 3 colourful and cool attires with which she used to mesmerize her guests. There's absolutely no other way to describe her looks on those days other than to say that She looked Heavenly!

Check out some of her pictures below.... happy viewing. *winks*

aren't they just so cute and lovely together?

Wedding Checklist

First of all, let me start by saying a wedding checklist helps you keep track of the things you need to do in order to prepare for your wedding. It helps ensure you get things ready and in order exactly the way you want you want them to be.

I know that coordinating all the bits and pieces of your wedding can be very stressful. I have been there before so trust me. Obviously each wedding  is different, I have seen brides who organised their whole wedding in 2 years, 1 year, even 8weeks(me!). But the truth is that there are general rules you know, so below is a checklist based on 1 year engagement and wedding planning time that you will definitely find as a very useful guide whether you are planning your wedding in 2years, 1year, months or weeks.

Print  a copy of this list for yourself and your future husband and tick each item off as you accomplish it to ensure that you have everything in place and under control for your wedding day :

Immediately:
  • Pray-yes pray! its very important.
  • Work out your budget.
  • Open a bank account specifically for your wedding and put a certain amount of savings into this account every month or as many times as possible.
  • Decide on what sort of ceremony you want (in a church, courthouse, home, etc…).
  • Book the church and officiating ministers, if applicable.
  • Start looking at reception venues. Availability may determine your wedding date. Book your venue as soon as possible.
  • Ask your friends and family members whether they will be willing to be your bridesmaids, maid of honour (chief bride's maid), best man and groomsmen.

  • Attend pre-marriage counselling if required.
5 months to go:

  • Try on and purchase your underwear for the wedding and the wedding night.
  • Consult with cake makers and decide on a design and a supplier.
  • Confirm the menu with your caterers.
  • Finalise your guest list.
4 months to go:
  • Decide on the music to which you want to walk down the aisle, exit the ceremony venue and arrive at the wedding reception. Also decide on hymns and provide the marriage official(s) with these.
  • Choose readings or poems for the ceremony.
  • Print your wedding invitations.

More Amazing Beauty Tips

Hello glowing beauties, I trust you are doing great. Let me start by apologizing for not making good my promise of regularly blogging. I was really down last week so I couldn't write any post  but I am much better now, thank God. If you have been following me on twitter (@ glowinfaces), you would have been enjoying a number of juicy and great makeup tips. Anyway, I have decided to compensate you- my avid readers here,  with  a bunch of  tips for your pleasure. Please enjoy the following 15 tips.

1.variety they say is the spice of life. Spice up your lipstick application by opting for a nude or creamy or matte or glossy lip effect.

2.Minimal and sheer makeup is the way to go when its hot and muggy outside.

3.Breakout before a big event? take oral cortisone a few days before the event or apply aspirin mask.

4.Always allow about two fingers from your nose to where blush starts.

5.Balance out your shimmer. If you are doing a shimmery eye, compliment it with matte lips.

6.rubbing raw potato slices on your skin helps fade the dark spots faster.

7.For clear skin, look for a cleanser with salicylic acid.

8.the #1 reason for flaky mascara is that the formula is too dry or old. Make sure to close mascara after use to help retain its moisture.

9.Exfoliate to get rid of dead skin cells but limit it to 2 or 3 times weekly so that you don't dry out your skin.

10.Hydrate your under-eye area with an eye-cream to prevent puffiness and bags.

11.Always wash your makeup off before you go to bed. if you are always too tired, keep facial wipes close to your bed so that you can always rid your face off makeup at night.

12.Your foundation application should never be heavy.

13.A little blue eyeliner on the  upper lid is very flirty and 'in' *winks*

14.If you are not a fan of liquid liner, get the look of liquid eye liner by using a gel liner instead

15.To reduce unwanted shine, use a moisturizer that mattifies, that way you get the moisture your skin needs without looking greasy.

lots of tips hey! hope you find them very helpful... remember to leave your comments and questions if any, below.

Ladies And Glasses

Glasses may have been used in the movie industry to connote an unfashionable or socially inept person for years but  in my opinion, to be bespectacled is so cool and in now...And who says people don't make passes at women wearing glasses?
anyway glowing beauties, in this post  I would love to share with you a few tips to getting your eyes pop under those stylish specs. here they are:

1. Foundation: use powder or mineral foundation instead of liquid or cream foundation reason being that liquid and cream foundation tend to give unsightly marks on the cheeks and bridge of the nose. remember to conceal any under eye circles. Also, ensure that you set your concealer with mineral powder so that it doesn't settle in any fine lines.

2. Define your eyes (eyebrows, eyeliner, eye shadow): Glasses will either cover your eyebrows or frame them. Either way, ensure your brows stand out by keeping them well-groomed and for sparse hairs, fill in with either a pencil or brow powder for a more polished look because glasses will make your eyebrows more obvious.
A good rule of the thumb when applying eyeliner is to mimic the thickness of your frame. That is, if you have thin frames, go with a thin liner and for thicker frames, apply a thick liner. Again if the width of the frame is extends well beyond your eyes, go ahead and wing out the eyeliner but if your frame is a bit narrow, just follow your lash line without extending the eyeliner.
keep your eye shadow bright and light if you must use it, it will make a beautiful impact.

3.Eye lash (Mascara): Apply one or two coats of mascara to make your lashes stand out. If you have got long lashes, curl them first with an eyelash curler before you coat them, that way the lashes won't hit your lenses . Also ensure that your lashes dry before you put on your glasses to avoid smudging the inside of your frame.

4. lips: A bold or brightly coloured lip can add light, life and interest to a face that has been seen wearing mostly the same frames. Ensure you always vary your lip colour for a transforming and ultra modern look that can do no wrong!

I sure do hope you find this post very informative and interesting...let me know what you think, so kindly leave your  views or questions in the comments box below.*winks*
